Mr. 2b

Alright! So, in last weeks first post, I lightly mentioned something I didn't want to jinx....well... I'm still not going to give you full details on what that is... but!!! I will reveal something to you lovely readers!!! Are you ready for this!?!?!

Ready for Miss Hypocrite 2010??

Waaahhh!!!

Here goes!!!

I... yours truly... miss single sally... miss single sally who wants to find true love in real life... has..... reactivated her okcupid account..... cringe!!!!!......

okay okay okay!!!

Lay it on me!! I can take it!!! I know I know I know!

I made a vow to myself and to you lovely readers that on-line dating wasn't for me! I tried it and I hated it! Maybe I didn't give it a solid, serious try? Maybe I put too much pressure on it! Anyways! I'm back on it and ready to take whatever it throws my way... well... not whatever it throws my way...

Let me digress a bit....

Back in the day, when I signed up on okcupid and I was actively using it, I started to think that, while I work at a bank... a public place.... in center city, I'm bound to run into a few people I see on okcupid!

There was this one dude that came into the bank once and I swear I saw him under my "Visitors" section of my okcupid profile... but neither of us said anything... which is a good thing.... it'd be weird and awkward....

This time, reactivating my account, I didn't think anything of it! The thought didn't even cross my mind! Well!!! Let me tell you something amazingly hilarious that happened to me on there the other day!

It was a late Wednesday evening, I had just gotten in from class and I slid under my covers, propped my laptop on my lap and proceeded to check my email and what not. I decided to casually check okcupid. So, I log in... check my inbox and BAM! I got an IM!

Dude: Hey
Dude: Do you recognize me?
Dude: You work at the bank, right?
Me: What?! Who is this? Hold on, let me check out your pics.... (mind you, his default pic was of him...shoulders down.... holding a surfboard... wtf?! That must say something?!!?! anyways...)

I click on his profile, then quickly click on his pics... and... well... here's the thing...there are 4 types of people/customers I remember/recognize at the bank:

1. Cute people
2. Annoying people
3. Mean people
4. Nice people

Well!! Wouldn't you know! He fell right into category #2!! Wait for it... it doesn't stop there!! I feel that category #2 has a few subcategories....

2a. Annoying chicks that think their good looks will make up for their stupidity
2b. Annoying dude customers that talk too much and think they're bad to the bone and try to put moves on you... they also tent to look mousey.... just their appearance annoys the fuck out of you.
2c. Customers who can't fill out a simple deposit or withdraw slip... all you have to do is read... READ!!!

The list goes on but those 3 are the top.

I'm sure you guessed that he falls in to category 2b of customers I remember at the bank.... if you did, then you're right! Go buy a lottery tickey, you're probably feeling pretty luck today!! haha Seriously though, that's the dude that IM'd me!!!

So, I reply with...

Me: oh, yeah, hey
Dude: How are you?
Me: good, you?
Dude: Good, So, how long have you been on here?

(meanwhile I had a message in my inbox and I was replying to it, and I was so flustered and annoyed by category 2 subcategory B dude that I accidentally sent the mail mid sentence and had to send an apology email lookin like an ass!!!!)

Me: Eh... I've been on and off... hey, I gotta go, cya around!

SIGN OUT!!!

WTF!?!?! WHY ME?!?!!?

How insane was that!?! It just had to be subcategory 2b dude! Why couldn't it be a dude from category #1!!!!!!??? Sigh!! Just my luck!! Hahaha! It's a pretty funny story though!

I definitely don't look forward to the day he walks into the bank! Because you know that a dude from subcategory 2b would be the type that walks in all rico-suave like and bring it up!!! Get the fuck outta my face!!!!!!!

HOT DAMN!!

He will be referred to as Mr.2b from now on... so if he walks in and starts 2bing around... you bet your bottom dollar I'm blogging about it!!!!

Mr. Nerdgasm

OKcupid date #2

With this dude I wasn't 100% into him like I was with Mr. Teeth, so I figured it was a good thing. I thought that maybe it would work out oppositely than it did with Mr. Teeth. If I wasn't super into this dude at first, maybe when meeting him there will be fireworks!?!?! sigh, oh me!

His pics weren't that bad. He seemed a bit meaty. (I'm sure you can guess that I like dudes with a bit of meat, no scrawny boys.) He had a cute smile and his profile was silly. But, still, I wasn't as intrigued with him as I was with Mr. Teeth.

So, after setting up a time to meet this dude, the day of he postponed it to 30min later... and then showed up 20min late. I guess he had a good excuse, he had to go home after work to make sure his house wasn't flooded. It was raining crazy that day. I suggested we meet another day, but he declined. At the time I wished he hadn't, but in retrospect it was good I got this date over with.

We met up at a local gelato place just down the street from where I work. That way if it was a hot sweaty day I wouldn't have to travel far so I could look in tip top shape! It's a shame I wasted such a cute outfit on this dude...eeep! I can always recycle though! :)

I'm guessing you can already tell where this is going. The full 2 hrs I was with him I was thinking of ways to get out of the date!! I didn't know what to do!

WHY ME!?!!?!?!

Let me start off by saying that nerds are cute... well, some of them are.

But.....

This guy was an INTENSE nerd... IN-fuckin'-TENSE!!! Definitely not my type. He was all about Star Trek, Anime, and video games AND!!!....and... he was talking about all the things that gave him "nerdgasms." Now, I've heard the term "nerdgasm" before, in fact, I think my ex used it from time to time. This dude used it way too much! Way way way too much! Every other word had to of been fuckin' "nerdgasm."

SAVE ME PLEASE!!!

And! I don't know if it's just me but people in their online pics look a little more meatier than they are in person.... I want some meat people! MEAT!!! He was a typical scrawny nerdy dude. I'm not trying to hate on nerds or scrawny people or a combination of the two, it's just not to my liking.

You know, silence isn't always a bad thing on dates. There's comfortable silence, and then there's awkward silence. Well, you can tell the date is going bad when there's a shit ton of awkward silence. At one point we were trying to think of things we messaged about on OKcupid to continue talking about. Oh, and in the bits of silence he would rub his chin/beard and have this thinking face on:

Anyways.. yeah, needless to say, it was a bad date.

Finally! He looked at his phone to check the time and he said "Oh! I have to put money in the parking meter" and I said "Oh?! what time is it?" (this was my exit!!!) He said "It's 6. We should go for a beer, or you know what? It's dinner time, lets get some dinner!" My response was "oh man! It's 6!! My brother is visiting from Rutgers and I told him I'd have dinner with him at 7! I'm sorry I have to go!"

Thank the lordy lord!! I was sort of telling the truth so I didn't feel that bad, but I did stumble over a few words hehehe oh man! But, alas, I WAS FREE!!!

So, as it turns out, he liked me. How do I know this?? Keep on reading!!

As soon as I get home I got a message from him saying " Wow it was really cool seeing you in 3-D and I didn't even need those movie theater glasses! When can we hang out again so I can tell my friends I'll be meeting a cool chick that day?"

OY!!!!!!

In human language that would be translated to "I had a great time meeting you. When do you want to meet again?" or whatever a macho man would say.

So.. I waited a day to gather my thoughts and come up with a good rejection letter.. and it went something like this "Hey, it was cool meeting you. You're a cool guy but I just didn't feel a connection. I'm sure there's a girl out there for you! Good luck!"

He messaged me back telling me he was a bit bummed but c'est la vie sorta thing...

The End
<3

Just kidding!

The next day I got another message from him telling me that he's going about his day normally then randomly thinks to himself "really?! after 2 hours it's over!" and that he thought that that was gonna win the "shortest date" but really his shortest date lasted around 30min....

I want to meet that girl and find out how she got out of it!!!!!

Not to be mean or anything but I think that should tell ya something bucko... I dunno... could be just me? haha "It's not you, it's me.... our relationship wouldn't last, I'd be too worried I wouldn't be able to give you as good a Nerdgasm as Spock could. sigh, sorry :( "

Moral of the story:

- FIND WAYS TO GET OUT OF THE DATE WHILE NOT FEELING BAD!!!!! Prepare yourself ahead of time :) I think putting it into practice as many times as you can would be beneficial, that way you wont feel as bad after the ... 10th failure. Well! Hopefully after the 10th failure you will have landed Mr. Right. So the saying goes "It takes going through 10 guys to find the right one." My question to that is "Is it just 10 or 10hundred? 10thousand?" I obviously need some sort of clarification here.

hahaha

until next time!!

Mr. Teeth

So, I met this dude on OkCupid...

He seemed really cool at first, smart, interesting and hot. Yes, a hot man on an online dating site, who knew? His lips were full and beautiful and he seemed tall and meaty.. mm mm mm and a beautiful smile!!! sigh

So, you might wonder why I call him Mr.Teeth... hm? Well first of all we sent a few messages back and forth to each other, to, you know, get to know a bit more about one another. Then! He sends me a message saying "I have something to confess to you, I think your teeth are sexy"

MY TEETH ARE SEXY?!?!?!! WHAT?!!?!!?

I have a gap between my 2 front teeth, so maybe some people find that sexy. Madonna has it, but Madonna has always screamed sexiness! Who else has it? I don't even know... so I took that comment as a red flag at first then I decided to stuff that flag in my pocket and forget about it.

One night we were up late chatting through OKcupid messages, another semi-red flag, he wouldn't IM, never IM only message... and the convo turned kind of.... sexual.. EEEEP!!! I don't know how it happened but I liked it and hated it all at the same time! Anyways, we set up a time and a place to meet up....

He canceled an hour prior to the date!!!!!!! Another red flag perhaps? He had a good excuse though, he suffers from migraines. So I decided not to give him a red flag for that one, although my co-workers beg to differ :)

We set up another date and well, it was kind of normal and boring, not as exciting as I'd expect it to be, oh! I forgot to mention that before meeting, he was talking about grabbing my ass when we'd met... sigh... another fuckin' red flag!! WHAT THE FUCK!

I met up with him at a park and it was so hot and humid that day. It was, well i was, disgusting!!!! He was not what I expected...AT ALL! Physically, he was smaller, short and skinny and his hands! oy! I can't stand a man with woman hands and his hands were super feminine fragile! He was totally different in person than online.Online he acted like such a macho man, talking about grabbing my ass and all sorts of shit and in person he had a mousy voice and would poke me with his finger once in a while

...?!?!...poke, poke, poke, poke, poke....?!?!?! who pokes people anymore!?!?! (and i'm not talking bout the sexual kind folks!) Wait, who pokes people anymore? Did I just say that? Dude! Who fuckin' pokes people period!!!?

?!?!?!!??!

crickets cricketing....

?!?!?!?!?!

So, whatever, I didn't want to judge him, first dates are awkward, especially when meeting someone from an online site. And! Even though I told him I was curvy, I might not have been what he expected either! So I let all of my judgments go and tried to enjoy the rest of my date.

We just sat there and talked for 1.5hrs and that was it, not very eventful at all. Which is okay! I don't need to go horseback riding or go bungee jumping (things The Bachelorette does on her first dates.), but just sitting and talking with this dude? Not eventful, not dynamic, no sparks.. whatever!

After the date we continued to message each other about how we'd meet up again and blah blah. Even though I wasn't 100% into him I figured I might as well try it again, who knows!

But!!!! Then!!! He started messaging me about how he wanted me to give him head and this and that and the messages would not stop!! So I told him he turned me off and that most boys don't understand that they have to work for head, they have to DESERVE head.. we women don't just give it for free! I hope men out there just read that sentence and are really taking it in, just soak it up.. take a minute or two, go ahead, I'll wait for you. Seriously.

Okay, you ready?

If not, maybe go outside for a walk and ponder that, then come back and finish this entry, how does that sound?

OY! Let's move on!

So, he messaged me back telling me that he was joking... joking? Really? Mr. Macho Teeth man was just joking? Couldn't support all the nasty weight you've been throwing at me?? That didn't even make any sense!

WHAT A LAME-O!!!! WHAT A COP OUT!!!!!

So, I didn't reply to him I'll let that little mouse bug someone else and tell them how their... eyebrows make him hot and heavy...rawr!

Moral of the story is:

- DON'T SHOVE RED FLAGS IN YOUR POCKET AND FORGET ABOUT THEM!!!!!

- If there isn't a spark on the first date, just move on, don't give it a second chance, in the end you're just wasting everyone's time!

The trials and tribulations of a single 20something in the 21st century

The past month I've been thinking about writing a blog about all my wonderful dating adventures, and failures. So, today at work after spitting out silly things about my life as a single 20something I decided to start this blog. So! Since there was no line at work I started this lovely blog!

I wanted to title it The Trials and Tribulations of a single 20 something in the 21st, but apparently this place has a limit to a blog title.... what?! I know, crazy!! So, I settled for this instead :) I devote my first post to what this blog was supposed to be called... lets take a moment of silence.

Anyways!
So!! After recently breaking up with my ex I have been on the move, and quite fast too. I seriously told myself that I wouldn't date any one or even think about men for a year... A FUCKING YEAR!?!?!!?!? Who the hell am I kidding! I'm a woman, I've got needs!! Needs I tell ya, needs. Many needs at that!

How does a 20something or 30 something or any something find people to date!?! Yeah I could go to a bar or club or something but really? Nah, I'd rather not fall in love with a crazy drunk or club hopper. In any case, when I do go to bars with my gals, I'm with my gals, I'm not looking for men... oy!

Let me briefly talk about my mother. She is obsessed.... OBSESSED.... with Jdate. Fuckin' JDate!!! "The rabbi gave a sermon the other day and he mentioned that 70% of the marriages he performs are from JDate matches." FUCK THAT SHIT! NO THANK YOU!

I must be honest, I've tried JDate before, I was living in Los Angeles. I dated an actor for 3 months, note to self (and for all of you lovely ladies our there) DO NOT DATE ACTORS. First of all buck-o you met me on our first date, I didn't have someone go pretending to be me, you saw me curves and all. So why? Why I ask you. Why!? After 3 months you dump me because I'm not tall and skinny, I just don't understand!

I actually signed up on JDate that one time as a bet with my mother. If she paid for my subscription and I met my husband then fine, she was right... but if I don't find my husband then leave it fuckin' be. Did she keep her promise? Of course not, she's a jewish mother for gods sake!

So, since being single I had many arguements with my mother about this whole JDate bullshit and i refuse to join again.. refuse!

But, of course I gave into the online dating world. While I still have this dream that I'll meet my future husband in some magical way .... a way that will be a great story for my kids and grand kids, i feel that in today's technology filled world, it's just not possible. So, I gave into the whole online dating thing... shh, please don't tell my mother, I don't want to make her happy :)

Of course I want to make my mother happy, I just don't want her nagging me because we all know she will. It's just how jewish mothers work. Unfortunately I'll probably be like that one day too, that is if i ever meet my future husband. Instead I might just bug the 40 cats I'll be living with :)

So, I signed up to OKcupid.. its a free dating site... so far I've been on 2 dates from that site, and boy were those dates interesting!! I won't dive into them in this post, I think they both deserve their own posts.

So, there ya have it, my intro to this wonderful blog.

My goals for this blog are (but not limited to):
1. Writing about my wacky dates
2. Writing about my desperation in finding this future husband
3. How much I hate my dreamy way of thinking
4. Bitch about men
5. Bitch about the society we live in and how fuckin hard it is to find some1 real

Thats for now.

btw, I'm so desperate that when my coworker was on his way to grab a snack and asked a few of us if we needed anything i said i needed a husband. Mostly because this dude is fuckin hilariously awkward i wanted to see what he'd say. He said he'd try and find an old rich man for me. Unfortunately when he got back he came alone.... sigh...

So! I hope you enjoy this blog as much as I will/do!

Let the games begin bitches!!!
Operation find future husband commences!!!!!
